KRAIG KINSER NETS SIXTH-PLACE RESULT AT ELDORA SPEEDWAY

September 25, 2018

Inside Line Promotions – SARVER, Pa. (Sept. 25, 2018) – Kraig Kinser put together one of his most consistent nights of the season last Friday at Eldora Speedway, which hosted the World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series during the BeFour the Crowns Showdown.

Kinser qualified third quickest in his group and he won a heat race to lock into the dash. A fifth-place finish lined him up on the inside of the third row for the A Main.

“Any time you go to a track like that where you’ve ran good at the last couple of years it’s definitely positive,” he said. “You know you have the capability to run well there. It was a good time for us to have a good night.

“We were real competitive pretty much the whole night. I think the worst we were was the last couple of laps of the feature. We had a couple of late cautions and a red flag. The car was still there, but we lost a little grip.”

Kinser had climbed into the runner-up position early before he hung onto a sixth-place finish.

“We restarted second early in the race before halfway and I knew we had a good car,” he said. “We were racing (Brent) Marks pretty hard for second. We got around him and then he got back by us. We tailed off a little at the end. We’ll take the solid night and go forward.”

The weekend wrapped up on Saturday with the Commonwealth Clash at Lernerville Speedway. Kinser timed in 15th quickest and placed fourth in a heat race to line up 15th for the main event.

“The track was pretty quick at the beginning of the night, but it got slick by the feature,” he said. “We were 11th to 15th all night. We pretty much unloaded around there and ran there the whole night.”

Kinser climbed a trio of positions in the A Main to end 12th.

The team will return to World of Outlaws competition this Friday and Saturday at Williams Grove Speedway in Mechanicsburg, Pa., during the Champion Racing Oil National Open.

“When the big events come around you always want to run well,” he said. “Hopefully everything plays out and helps us. You always need a little luck. The amount of cars that are capable of having good runs is pretty high. It’s a tough race in general with Williams Grove the way it is and the competition.”

Additionally, Kinser wants to offer his condolences to the family and friends of Greg Hodnett.

“It’s a tragic situation,” he said. “It makes the weekend that much more emotional and tougher to be honest. I got to watch Greg quite a bit as a kid and talked to him quite a bit. He’s an unbelievable guy. We talked about every time we were in the pits together. It’s just a shame.”
