20-time World of Outlaws (WoO) STP Sprint Car Series champion. Competed in the first career World of Outlaws race on March 18, 1978 at Devil’s Bowl Speedway. Has won every major Sprint car race during his racing career. 576 career WoO Sprint Car Series A-Feature victories. 12-time Knoxville (Iowa) Nationals champion. Finished 14th in the 1997 Indianapolis 500. Fourteen-time National 410 Sprint Car Driver of the Year. Nineteen-time American Auto Racing Writers & Broadcasters Association All-American honoree.

Began racing winged Sprint cars in 2000. Kraig was the 2004 World of Outlaws Kevin Gobrecht Rookie of the Year. Won the 2005 Knoxville Nationals making him and father Steve, the only father-son duo to have won the prestigious event. In 2005 debuted and won the Automobile Racing Club of America (ARCA) race at Michigan International Speedway in Brooklyn. Made 18 starts in 2006 with the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series. Made 13 starts in 2007 with the Truck Series and 2 ARCA starts. Won that year's All Star Circuit of Champions Fall Classic at Lawrenceburg Speedway. 

Has 16 career WoO Sprint car series victories, earning him a spot inside the top-20 of the WoO all-time win list.

In 2016 Kraig and the Steve Kinser Racing team completed in the All Star Circuit of Champions series, receiving Rookie of the Year.

3 and half at quarter midgets till 8 or 9 then go-karts raced until 14 or 15. Then 360 non wing at 360s, winged 410 here, broken back in upper vertebae 6 weeks.
